NAGPUR

Nagpur, also known as the Orange capital of India is the third largest city of the state of Maharashtra. It is one of the most happening cities in Maharashtra, located in the Deccan Plateau; this magnificent city has been termed as the winter capital of the state. The city derives its name from the river Nag that flows through it. It was founded by the Gond King of Deogad, Bakht Buland Shah in the year 1703. The city was also the capital of Madhya Bharat state (CP and Berar) till 1960. The city is one of the major tourist destinations of the state. There are several attractions in and around the city. You can see temples, historical monuments, lakes and other spots of natural beauty.

Going towards the Religious spots are Balaji Mandir and Poddareshwar Ram Mandir. Historical monuments of Nagpur are sitabuldi fort and Deekshabhoomi which is a pilgrimage for Buddhas. Besides this there is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the National park located in satpura hills. Trekking, bird-watching and many such activities are best suited to this region. Nagpur is only 85 kms from this place, which forms the nearest airport as well as the nearest railhead. Commonly spotted wild animals include tigers, panthers, bisons, sloth bears, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, blue bulls, sambar, cheetahs, barking deer and a variety of others are found . Khindsey Lake is a gorgeous water body set amidst the green stretch, placed beneath the Ramtek hill. It forms an ideal picnic spot. Located at eight kms from Ramtek and 60 kms from Nagpur. There are many other tourist spots Adasa, Nagardhan, Bhadravati, Pawni. Etc.
